  1. Job or Work of a Travel Agency or Travel Company

Travel agency & travel company are also having same meaning. Travel agency’s are divided in 3 parts: Domestic, Inbound & Outbound. Domestic travel agency are those which are making packages of their own country. For example if a travel agency makes & sales travel packages of only Goa, Kerala, Agra, Rajasthan and not of any international destination then they are domestic travel agency. Inbound is when they are making packages for foreigners visiting India. Outbound when travel companies makes travel packages for Indians who wish to travel abroad. 

In travel companies the most common work are: Issuing Air Tickets domestic & international, booking hotels, making travel itineraries, constructing travel packages, providing visa & doing operations. 

Those who learn only air ticket issuance so they also gets jobs easily and those who know only travel packages they also gets jobs. One who can do all the work will become the Manager & can grow to General Manager, Managing Director or can Start their own Travel Agency. 

Usually an executive can start with the salary of Rs. 18000 per month, if he or she do good then after 6 months salary usually reaches to 24000 & after 1 year around 26000. After 2 years the same executive will become Assistant Manager & salary would be around Rs. 35,000 per month. After 6 years same person will become Senior Manager & Salary can be around 1,50,000 Per Month & after 10 years of experience the salary can be easily around 3,00,000 (three lakh) per month

  1. Jobs at Airports International & Domestic

Most common & easily available airport jobs are of Ground Staff. Mostly everyone starts as Ground Staff & on the basis of their performance they keep getting promotions & trainings. There are jobs on the basis of only 10th also and only on the basis of 12th also. 
 

Other than this at airport there are jobs of issuing air tickets, issuing boarding cards, airport representative jobs, jobs in airport restaurants and shops and in duty free shops along with jobs related to security. 

Airport even has lots of Government Jobs also. Like Customs and Immigrations and of Engineers and Technical Jobs.

Starting Salary: 15,000 to 26,000 Rs. / Month

Salary after 1 year of experience: 20,000 to 38,000 Rs. / Month

Salary after 3 years of experience: 28,000 to 50,000 Rs. / Month

  1. Job of Pilots & Flight Crew - Air Hostess

The best job of Aviation Industry (which is part of Travel Industry) is the job of a Pilot. These are very high paying jobs and provides maximum opportunities to travel the whole world free of cost and in minimum time. It is difficult to get these jobs because the courses are very expensive and number of jobs are less than available trained pilots. Pilot course will cost minimum 30,00,000 (30 Lakh). Job of Air Hostess or Flight Crew

This is also a very good job of Aviation Industry. Right time to join is in the age of 21 to 23 after that it becomes difficult. If you are confident then getting this job is not difficult. Now there is no minimum height or weight criteria. This job is also going to make you travel a lot. Most of the airlines retire their Air Hostess/Flight Stewards/Flight Crew after the age of 35

Tour Guides plays very important role in making tourist understand tourist destination and attractions. Even limited knowledge of a particular city can get you job of a Tour Guide. Per Day Earning after 10 years of experience: 10,000 to 20,000 Rs. Per Day

Please note on an average a Tour Guide gets to work only 70 to 85 days in an year. This means if a tour guide earns 3000 Rs. Per Day and gets to work only 85 days then his yearly earning is: 85 x 3000 = 2,55,000 so effective per day earning is 699 Rs. and Monthly Earning is: 21000 Rs.

Airline jobs are few best jobs of Aviation Industry which is part of Travel Industry online. Among this there are sales jobs also and even marketing jobs are also available. Those who want to work at the airports they also have lots of options and those who want 10 to 5 Job only 5 days working they can work in city offices. Usually every Airline staff gets minimum 2 free air tickets every year.

MICE stands for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions or Events. These are the reasons because of which lots of people travels in group.   1. Jobs with Destination Management Companies, Suppliers, Tourism Boards like Australia Tourism, Switzerland Tourism Office etc

These are excellent jobs and high paying also and the good part is, these jobs are available even on the basis of limited knowledge also. Destination Management Company is known as DMC also, it means they are managing a particular destination. Like Hello Tourism it is a DMC dealing only in Turkey. DMC’s and Suppliers are same no difference and they deal only with Travel Agents and not with direct clients. 

Similarly there are Tourism Boards of every region every foreign country. Like Switzerland Tourism Board, Canada, USA, Australia. They don’t do sales but they do only marketing and awareness exclusively of their own destination. Tourism Boards and DMC’s opens their offices in all the important countries to market their destination. So in each country they hire local people also. If someone want job in Switzerland Tourism Board then the person should have basic knowledge of Tourism and should have good knowledge of Switzerland, only on the basis of this knowledge one can obtain these excellent jobs. Along with this it is important that candidate should have excellent personality and communication skills. 

Within the first 3 months of joining the job the candidate will get to travel to that destination. For example if Ram Kumar gets job in Switzerland Tourism Board then to provide him practical training the company will surely send to Switzerland. So free travel is guaranteed but this travel will be limited to Switzerland only

Starting Salary: 80,000 to 1,20,000 Rs. / Month + Excellent amount of Travel Allowance

Salary after 2 years of experience: 3,00,000 to 4,00,000 Rs. / Month

  1. Jobs with Hotels & Cruises. Yes Hotels & Cruises are also part of Travel Industry

Skills and qualification required for job in Hotels and Cruise-liners are same. The only difference is that in Hotels even those who are not good in English would get job but in Cruises having excellent command on English Language is mandatory. Even the kind of work is also same. Actually a Cruise is nothing but a luxurious resort on a ship

This is also part of Travel and Tourism Industry. The good part of this work is that anyone can get job in this with or without any training or qualification. Yes even those who didn’t do even 10th they can also get job of Bus Booking, Train Booking. 

After working in this for few years like 4 to 6 years it is easy to start your own Bus Booking Counter or Office same is the process of Train Bookings. But IRCTC is going to close all small train booking agents so do not concentrate on that

This is an excellent business. Without transportation division Travel Industry can not survive in any country. Even if the country has excellent rail network and air network even than Tourist Buses and Taxi are required. Jobs in this division are majorly for drivers. 

This is majorly for those who want to do their own business. If someone has more money then they starts with multiple vehicles like buses, innova, mercedes every kind of vehicle. Who have less money they can also start with only one taxi for which even loan is also available. 

Tip: Even if you have money first work in some Transportation Company as a Driver for minimum 2 years

Importance of Communication Skills & Personality in Travel Industry? Is it Mandatory to have good command on English Language for getting job in Travel and Tourism Industry

Yes even those who can not speak in English can also get job in Travel, Tourism, Aviation and Hospitality Industry. But at the same time this is going to reduce your salary by approximately 20% in comparison to someone who is good in English. The right way to compensate this loss is to train yourself better than those who are good in English. So if someone who can not speak in good English but can do the practical work better than those who are good in English then such person will be able to to earn even more than those who are good in English Language.
