How to do Delhi to Leh Ladakh or Manali to Leh Ladakh by Road The Tourism School way.

Students of June 2017 batch will get opportunity to take Delhi - Manali - Leh - Pangong Lake - Manali - Delhi Road Trip of 15 Days

Delhi to Manali Highway is nicely maintained and the distance of Delhi to Manali is approximately 600 KM. After reaching Manali one needs to take Leh Manali Highway which is of 490 KM. Leh Manali Highway opens only for 4 to 5 Months from May or June to September or October.

Leh Manali Highway is maintained by BRO (Border Road Organization) and the best time to take the journey through Leh Manali Highway is in August, because that is the time when it is less crowded than in June and most of the work of maintenance also gets finished.

Manali to Leh by Road suggested Travel Schedule or Travel Itinerary is mentioned below:

Day 1 - Leave Manali at 6 AM and cross Rohtang Pass before 8 AM to save yourself from Traffic Jams of Rohtang Pass. Reach Jispa and take short break at Jispa, start your journey to Keylong which is at the distance of around 120 KM from Manali, make Keylong your stop for Night.

Day 2 - Leave Keylong early morning and reach Sarchu which is around 100 KM and this can be your stop for another night.

Day 3 - Sarchu to Upshi around 200 KM, this is the longest journey but you would enjoy it because by now you have become use to also, from Upshi Leh is only 50 KM but we suggest you to make Upshi your stop for a night

Day 4 - Upshi to Leh only 50 KM, this is going to be your most exciting part of journey so you should be energetic and should have time to stop in between
